Good afternoon and Happy Friday!
The past few weeks have gone by in a whirlwind! I’ve been doing a bit of painting, and have quite a few started. This weekend will be spent trying to finish some of those. I have a ginormous canvas…40×40…that I need to start, but it’s really hard to decide what I want to use as subject for a painting that large. I’m pretty sure it will be a landscape of some sort, since that seems to be what I’m best at.
Today’s featured photos are a recent sunset as seen from our dining room, and an impressionist painting I finished during lunch today. The impressionist painting is my interpretation of a field afer a downpour. I was going to add trees or something to this painting, but to me it feels ‘finished’. I’m getting better at knowing when to put down the brush, because I have ruined plenty of them by adding more and more. Sometimes simple is best 🙂
In addition to painting, I’ve been working really hard with Sarge and it’s paying off. He’s been going for water treadmill therapy and walking really well on his own finally. I’ve also been having some fun in the kitchen. Last night, I made a huge batch of molasses cookies to send to deer camp for my stepdad’s birthday. He loves them so will be thrilled!
Tonight will be for cleaning, and it may be a late night if I decide to paint afterwards. I’m definitely in a creative mood, and I’ve learned to take advantage of that. The key to doing what I have planned is to LEAVE THE TELEVISION OFF! LOL! I will get nothing done if I’m sidetracked by my favorite shows. I desperately need to finish the gypsy painting, as well as a marsh on wood panel.
Oh! For anyone interested, I am having a sale from November 15-30…10% off with code DECKTHEWALLS10…at www.hickory-studio.com or www.etsy.com/shop/hickorystudio
It’s going to be a chilly weekend, so stay warm and stay tuned for more posts this weekend!
