Happy hump day!
Nothing exciting has happened since my last post, except we did buy a new car for me! It should be ready by Friday at the latest and I can’t wait! It’s a base model, like my last one, but we did get some black rims and windows tinted. It’s not a lot of bells and whistles, but it’s a way for me to have the fun car I like without breaking the bank.
I have been in a painting rut lately, and am trying to think of ways to feel creative again. I guess the best way is to just paint, even if it’s bad. I’ve noticed that I’m becoming undecided on my painting style since I haven’t been active in a few weeks. Now I know what that old saying by Pablo Picasso means….’Inspiration exists, but it must find you working’. Those are some very wise words, and no doubt he experienced lack of creativity at times.
I’ve been spending more time on daily chores, etc., especially with Sarge still in recovery. I hope to create several new pieces within the next few weeks. Last weekend, I did get my studio cleaned and organized, so that means it’s time to mess it up again, LOL!
I have varnished several large paintings, including the newest barn that I painted as a housewarming gift for a friend 😊 As for Gallery 246, I plan to move in by mid-July…so exciting! I’ll need to work on more large paintings.
On the foodie side, we’ve been enjoying recipes from my Mediterranean cookbooks…yum!! This week’s recipe was Tuscan white bean soup with kale. I used the recipe to a degree, but changed some of it to make it a little easier AND tastier.
So long for now, and I’m sure I’ll have new artwork to share next time!
